VCF created from CSV is not opening in iPhone Contacts

ReplyThanks 2025/12/08 14:15:18 0 0

I exported a CSV file from my Windows computer and converted it to VCF using a random online converter. But when I try to open the VCF on my iPhone, it shows “No valid vCard entries found.” Clearly the file is not in a format that iPhone accepts. I need a proper way to convert CSV to vCard so that iPhone reads it correctly. Anyone here who migrated contacts to iPhone recently?

iPhones are very particular about the formatting of vCards. If the CSV to VCF converter does not produce a correct vCard 3.0/4.0 structure iOS will simply reject the file without giving any error. I faced this situation while converting CSV to vCard for my iPhone. The file appeared to be okay, but it just wouldn't import. The first thing I found out was that one should not use commas and line breaks within the "Address" fields because iOS handles them in a strange way. The second point is selecting a tool that makes a clean vCard file. When I changed from DataVare CSV to vCard Converter, it created iPhone-compatible VCF files without me having to do any manual editing. Then Contacts. App imported my whole list in no time.
